Volunteer Coaches

George Imamura started this clinic in 2001 to introduce another sport to the kids. This is an introductory clinic, and should not to be compared to club volleyball. All coaches are volunteers, with many being older teenagers and young adults who previously participated as players in the clinic..

We try to have the same age groups practice at the same time and have found that volleyball is a social sport, with most kids wanting to play at the same level as their friends! If, at any time you feel your child should be moved to another level, then please let us know.

The 2012 South Bay F.O.R. Volleyball Clinic is a 6-week clinic held on Saturday evenings from June 2 through July 14, however there is no clinic on Saturday, July 7. The clinic consists of 2 sessions – 5pm to 7pm for 5-6th Graders, and 7pm to 9pm for 7- 8th Graders and High School Players. Both sessions will be held at Carnegie Middle School, located at 21820 Bonita Street in Carson.

Please note that grade levels for each session are subject to change based on completed registrations, and the location is subject to change due to gym availability. Space is limited, and Player reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Dates Saturdays, from June 2th through July 14th, 2012 (no clinic on Saturday July 7).
Time Saturday evening from:
5-7pm for 5th-6th grade (subject to change)
7-9pm for 7th-8th grade (subject to change)
7-9pm for High School Players (space limited - 1 court of 18 players)

Coaches We need Volunteer Coaches and welcome help from High School kids currently playing for their school or club teams for volunteer hours!  See the Coach Application Form for details.

To register:
Obtain a Player Application form from the F.O.R. website or through email (send an email request to FOR.volleyball@yahoo.com) , and
Submit your child’s completed application form and $25 Player Fee to S. Morimoto at 18009 Atkinson Avenue, Torrance, CA 90504 by Wednesday, May 16.
Please complete registration or email your child’s intent to play by Wednesday, May 18.
Clinic groups and session times will be scheduled based on participants registered by Friday, May 18.

NOTE: A signed Player Application form and $25 Player Fee must be turned in by the first night of the clinic.
